I just wanted to talk about what I have been doing for the last couple of weeks, and how by tracking it, I can see it starting to work.
I’ve previously mentioned in this blog and in videos on my Facebook page, that I was going to start tracking my links and make a copy of them daily on a tracking sheet. Well I have been doing this for a few weeks now. I have also done in combination with posting to Quora 3-4 times a week.
I have my tracking software set up, so I receive an email every morning at 8am with a summary of the clicks I have received on specific links over the past 24 hours. So, if I did forget to do it, this would serve as a reminder. I have to say I am actually quite surprised at myself, because I am pretty forgetful, but somehow, tracking my links and filling in my spreadsheet has just become part of my routine and I have not forgotten once! It’s definitely more than 21 days, so that’s it now, it’s officially a habit!
I really enjoy doing it because in this short space of time, I can see how my efforts with posting on Quora have been paying off. At first, I was just clinking zeros as I was getting used to the software, but since I have increased the amount of content I put out there, I have seen this reflected on the tracking sheet. Firstly, I started getting clicks, and then I started getting a few sign ups. I’ve not had any commissions yet, but I KNOW this is just a matter of time. The tracking sheet helps me to see it works!
This is a great motivator to keep going.
The other thing I find a great motivator, are the stats that I get from Quora itself. They tell you how many views you have had on your posts. You can check it for the last 7 days, 30 days, the last year or the entire time you have been on Quora.
Take a look at the screen shot I took below; I’ve had over 500 views just this week! I really like Quora and will continue to use it, but there are some frustrations. I wrote a post a couple of weeks ago, and I have been notified that it has been ‘collapsed’. I didn’t get an explanation to what this means, but I think it means they have hidden it, so people cannot see it. I have not been told why; and this is really frustrating because I do not know what to do to get this changed. GRRRR!
But that being said, it is still working for me, with my regular posting I can see via the stats on Quora and on my tracking sheet that the more consistent I am with putting content out, the more my numbers are growing. For this reason, I am sticking with Quora for now.
As I have been spending more time on Quora, I have come across this thing called Quora spaces. I don’t really know exactly what its function is yet, but I am committed to finding out. I have created my own space called ‘life after nursing’ and made a few posts in there and had some other people have been answering questions that I posed. Whilst I am not really what I am doing with this, I got a notification from Quora this morning to let me know I’ve had 1000 views on my space.
That cannot be bad!
Bye for now 😊
